Hello, I’m Jacquelyn
LICENSED MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST
Born and raised in Southern California, I received a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Art Center College of Design and worked in film and fine arts before relocating my two children to Santa Barbara. As my interest to be of service to others grew, I obtained my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.
Narrative, storytelling and empowerment have been ongoing interests of mine and continue to inform my work, from my undergrad to my current therapy practice. Over the years, I have found sharing our experiences, whether through art, therapy, or physical performance, creates a sense of belonging and community. I also believe by strengthening the mind/body connection, we create better attunement with our inner selves and improve regulation skills.
When out of the office, I am very active, surfing waves at the local breaks, lifting weights at the gym, and spending time with my kids and our dog, Suki. I am an avid surfer and complete in local long boarding competitions along the California coast. And for the past 15 years, I have been a trainer/owner of Pilates 3.0, a concierge pilates training service.
My Experience
My early work work as a counselor with adolescents and teens in the Santa Barbara Unified School Districts, focused on helping students with ADHD, low motivation, social struggles, self-harm, and communication challenges. I worked collaboratively with parents and staff to address student’s individual needs and academic goals.
I spent my Associate years at Riviera Therapy (Santa Barbara Independent 2025 winner!) working with individuals and couples addressing issues around trauma, codependence, anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, divorce, and parenting. Here, I developed my 8 week divorce support group that I continue to facilitate biannually.
